Some Muslims, especially those who have studied the science of hadith, must know or at least have heard of the book al-Musnad ash-Sahih or al-Jami' ash-Sahih, better known as Sahih Muslim. This book occupies a special position in the tradition of transmitting hadith. And, it is believed to be the second best book of hadith after Imam Bukhari's Sahih Bukhari.

Al-Imam Abul Husain Muslim bin al-Hajjaj al-Qusyairi an-Naisaburi, or often known as Imam Muslim was born in 204 Hijri and died on Sunday in the month of Rajab in 261 Hijri and was buried in Naisaburi. Imam Muslim has studied hadith since childhood such as Imam Bukhari and he has also compiled several quality and useful writings.
