FODMAP List German is the app to support your FODMAP diet.

Let yourself be shown quickly and easily which foods you can eat during the elimination phase.

I developed this app because I can get severe intestinal problems under control again with the FODMAP diet have. During the elimination phase I couldn't find a German and free app, which is why I decided to develop it myself in order to be able to help other people with possibly less good knowledge of English.

FODMAP List German offers many functions and becomes regular updated:

✓ No internet connection required

✓ Constantly expanding database with over 400 foods and ingredients

✓ All entries translated by hand and checked for accuracy

✓ Simple color system to immediately recognize which food you are allowed to eat

✓ Lightning-fast search for food

✓ Alphabet scroll function for one-handed operation

✓ Filter function for sorting by food category

✓ Eye-friendly dark mode

What are FODMAPs?

The term FODMAP is an abbreviation for fermentable oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, monosaccharides and polyols. These are carbohydrate compounds that can cause indigestion.

Fructans are also FODMAPs. These can be found in wheat, rye and pulses, for example, but also in dairy products and various types of fruit and vegetables.

The three phases of the FODMAP diet:

Phase 1:

The first phase of the FODMAP diet is the elimination phase. In this phase you should avoid all foods with a high FODMAP content for approx. 2-6 weeks. You can recognize these foods in the app by their red color. Green-colored foods contain few or no FODMAPs and are safe for most people. If there is a quantity specification for the food, it should not be exceeded, otherwise the limit of the tolerated FODMAPs could be exceeded!

If you notice an improvement in your symptoms within phase 1, you can start with phase 2 start. If there is no improvement, please discuss this with your doctor - FODMAPs do not seem to be causing your symptoms.

Phase 2:

You can now include individual foods in your menu again. Try to eat the food 2-3 days in a row. Are there any complaints? Then you can now assume with a high degree of certainty that you cannot tolerate this food. There are no complaints? Wonderful, you seem to tolerate this food. Repeat this process with all foods from your everyday life and make a note of the respective results.

Phase 3:

You should now know which foods you can tolerate and which you cannot. Now it is up to you and your doctor to change your diet with this knowledge so that you can live as symptom-free as possible in the future.

Please note that this app is only intended for educational purposes. Please consult a doctor before changing your diet.
